Currently we have 11U AA baseball teams. We are also taking interest from families for 10U teams. It is always possible to create and develop other aged teams. If you want to have further discussion about other aged teams, please feel free send an email regarding an other aged team to Other Aged Team.
The main coach, manager if you will is JT Collier. The other coaches are highly skilled and experienced in youth baseball. It takes a lot of coaching to develop and we are ready to meet the challenge!

It is really simple. First they must share the same passion for youth baseball development. Next they must have experience in coaching youth baseball. Then they must pass a background check, period! No coach is working with any of our youth players without passing a background check. We believe in the safety of our youth and will not budge in any way on the background check. Frankly if a potential coach is questioning having to do a background check it is a hard pass for us on that coach. Our morals, ethics, responsibilities to our youth and our insurance requires it. Total no brainer for us!

Coaches, including JT Collier do NOT get paid, they do get reimbursed for expenses they incur for the club. Some clubs may tout how they pay "professional" coaches as a sales point to parents. That sales point begins with a falseness that being paid brings better coaching. We truly are not running a business for monetary profit, it is a business for youth baseball development profit.

While it is extremely desirable coaches hold coaching certifications, it is also a strange coach training world we are in. It is often difficult to navigate the coaching certification world, and by that, we mean what is available and what a coach should have. Basically there is no straight across standard for youth baseball coaching. We require all coaches to pass a background check, period. We also require youth abuse prevention training annually, and CPR/AED//First Aid certification at a minimum. We strive to find coaches that have coaching certifications and encourage that they do pursue those while working with us. There is a measurable cost for coaches that desire to coach with us but our youth are the most important thing in the world.
JT Collier, holds several coaching certifications from the National Federation of State High Schools (NFHS) and USA Baseball, which incorporates the abuse prevention courses and many others to obtain and maintain.. JT also holds CPR/AED and First Aid certifications. JT constantly strives to stay current by taking coaching clinics from organizations like USA Baseball, being a member of the American Baseball Coaches Association, and the National Federation of State High Schools. We encourage our coaches to do the same.

Although G Town Baseball is formed as an Arizona Limited Liability Company, it is not driven to generate profits. It is driven to develop youth baseball players while covering the extensive cost of operating a baseball club. Examples of those costs are; team insurance, association memberships for the team (USSSA, PG, NCS, TCS etc.), field/facility rentals, and purchase/upkeep of baseball training equipment. Additional expenses are licenses to operate, and operational expenses such as supplies. Every penny collected goes back to providing what is needed for the teams. You can be assured we are trying to keep our dues at the same level as the majority of club teams, if not lower.

We could go through the lengthy process to form and be recognized as a non-profit, however the benefits do not outweigh operating as a LLC. We could go on and on about formations, taxation, and other benefits, but benefits of being non-profit just do not outweigh operating as an LLC at this time.
Yes. We are required to be insured to play in leagues, tournaments and rent fields/facilities from the various entities. Frankly we would never be without insurance, our youth are the most important asset we have in the world.

We follow the USA Baseball American Development Model which recommends practices should be a minimum 2 to 1 ratio (2 practices to 1 game). Frankly, Unlike most Little League & REC teams, we aim to develop players with the most current and correct recommendations for youth baseball. That's not to say Little League/REC hasn't provided some level of development, it's to say we are ratcheting it up. Development is key, not chasing rings.
We are Gilbert, AZ based and strive to support our community. The vast majority of practices will be held in the central Gilbert area such as New McQueen Park, Freestone Park, and public schools. Scheduling for any team can be a challenge and occasionally we may need to expand to surrounding areas such as Chandler or Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa, AZ. Most indoor facilities we utilize are not in the Gilbert town limits, however they are at the borders, D-Bat Mesa being one example. We are shooting to support our community while running the club and make it convenient for everyone involved.
For the most part winter season games are at Higley Traditional Academy in Gilbert, AZ. For spring and fall seasons we will be playing tournaments. We shoot to choose tournaments scheduled at Cactus Fields in Gilbert, AZ, Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa, AZ, and others that may take place in Chandler, AZ or other fields in Mesa, AZ. Be aware there are some tournaments that take place are in Peoria, AZ or Glendale, AZ, which generally are part of tournaments that originate from Gilbert or Mesa events. If we play in league style seasons, it would be in Chandler, AZ and Gilbert, AZ. We do not do out of town travel, unless the majority of the team families can commit to those tournaments (info given well in advance to make decision).
Club dues cover field/facility rentals, equipment, insurance and association memberships to play in the leagues/tournaments. We strive to keep monthly dues lower than most other clubs. To meet that goal tournament fees are not included in monthly dues, however each committed family to a team is bound to any tournament fees for the season. Tournament fees are divided amongst all player families committed to the team. If a tournament costs $900, it would be $900/12 = $75 per family. If the club is in excess on monthly dues collected for a month, we apply the excess to a tournament fee thereby decreasing what is due by each family. We are not profit driven at all and fully understand the financial commitment on playing for a club team.
Additionally, most tournament events charge a fee for entry, which varies and is not included in club dues or the tournament fee. Any entry or parking fees are outside our control and have become pretty standard, although we don't like it. Coaches and players will get free entry for any tournament events from the tournament organizer.
League style is just like how you palyed at Little League or REC level. Several games a season with playoffs. The difference is in fall league for club we would play in a USSSA sanctioned league style season. For winter season it is not a USSSA sanctioned league season. For spring season, we would more than likely play through East Valley Baseball, a longstanding and reputable organization that many clubs play in, or play in sanctioned tournaments from USSSA, PG, or NCS. All games no matter organization are played on Saturdays with a sprinkle of week nights.
Tournaments would all be played in USSSA, PG, NCS or other national sanctioned organizations. Those tournaments are generally held over 3 days (Friday-Sunday) at various locations. The first couple of days are pool play. Outcomes from the first couple days determine the level of championship the team(s) would be competing at for the final day. Generally there is Gold level and Silver level. Of course, a team can be knocked out of championship play by day 2 based of game outcomes. Always plan to spend 3 days playing in a tournament.
