If your player has been involved in Little League or Rec play, they typically experience 46/60 field dimensions up to the age of 12. However, at 13 years old, when they transition to Juniors in Little League, they are suddenly thrown into 60/90 field dimensions without any preparation for the change. This abrupt shift can negatively impact player morale, leading many kids to drop out of baseball. In contrast, the 50/70 dimensional play serves as the standard for club and junior high level play until high school, where it shifts to 60/90. If you want your player to be fully prepared for the jump to club baseball, relying solely on Little League or Rec play will not adequately equip them for competitive play, and unfortunately, many end up quitting. Our 46/60 to 50/70 transition program is designed to take your player from little league to club baseball play. Our youth baseball club teams have effectively done this through our winter season program. Our goal is to keep them engaged in the sport!
Our 46/60 to 50/70 transition program is specifically designed to help players aged 9U to 13U make the switch to 50/70 dimension baseball, out of little league to club baseball playing. We select the top 10% of Little League and recreational players to join our youth baseball club, where we focus on both 50/70 gameplay and the full baseball rules that accompany it. During practices at 50/70 dimensions, players will gain the skills and knowledge they need to excel in their games.
Most club teams are typically looking for players who rank in the top 5% of those who try out. However, we believe we can work with athletes in the top 10% to help them navigate the crucial 46/60 to 50/70 transition. While Little League and recreational programs won't prepare your players for the increased dimensions of 50/70, 54/80, or 60/90 fields, our youth baseball club is dedicated to teaching them little league to club baseball play. Our goal is to help them learn, develop, and most importantly, continue their passion for baseball.
We highly encourage parents to research all of this themselves from reputable sources. One significant resource is Dominate the Diamond. They not only operate youth baseball club teams in the northeast but also produce some of the best youth baseball coaching materials and offer baseball training for youth. As parents navigate the transition from Little League to club baseball, Dominate the Diamond runs a podcast called Get Zoned, where experts discuss important topics, including the 46/60 to 50/70 transition and youth baseball movement into larger field dimensions.
